Current level of Atmospheric CO2
Atmospheric CO2

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is the key greenhouse gas that traps heat from the sun in the atmosphere. Before the industrial revolution, the level of CO2 in our atmosphere was 280 parts per million (ppm) – a level perfect for a stable climate. Increasing the level of CO2, as we are doing with our emissions from burning coal, gas and oil, deforestation and land degradation, is making the climate increasingly unstable. The current level of atmospheric CO2 can be viewed here.
