About donations to FFSA

We are very grateful to the 100 or so people whose donations via our initial crowdfunding campaign in 2014/15 helped make the first years of our campaign possible; and to the individuals who have set up stop orders in our favour.

More information about our budgets and governance structure is available on our organisation page. Our NPO number is 149-064. We have tax-exempt status and we can issue 18A certificates for donations.

Please send email confirmation of your donation to admin@fosssilfreesa.org.za (and request an 18A certificate for tax purposes if you wish).

Or donate using Snapscan, just scan the barcode on this page.

  • “Thanks to David’s advice and input and the resources and people of Fossil Free South Africa, our fund was launched 18 months ago and is performing well, even though SASOL is excluded from it.”

    — DIAAN JANSE VAN RENSBURG, MANAGING DIRECTOR, NAVIGA SOLUTIONS

  • “The group has served as a credible source of information for my reporting. They’re a true David versus Goliath story – taking on the big polluters while raising awareness about the climate crisis – and that should continue to be supported.”

    — LAMEEZ OMARJEE, CLIMATE REPORTER, NEWS24

  • “I would like to provide my own and my organisation’s endorsement for the work of Fossil Free South Africa. Our organisations work towards similar goals, and having FFSA as a partner organisation has proved invaluable to our own work.”

    — GLEN TYLER, SOUTH AFRICAN TEAM LEADER, 350AFRICA.ORG

  • “FFSA has played a major role in supporting the divestment initiative at Wits
University since early 2020, generating debates among the university leadership at the highest levels. It is clear that FFSA is making a significant contribution to the struggle against the continued influence of the fossil fuel industry in South Africa.”

MATTHEW F. CHERSICH, MBBCH (WITS), MSC (LSHTM), PHD (U. GHENT), RESEARCH PROFESSOR

  • “As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional, director of a licensed financial services provider and someone who cares deeply about our natural environment, I’ve come to think of David and Fossil Free SA as Earth Knights playing a meaningful part in the most important battle in human history. He and his team are invaluable to both planet and future proofing industry.”

BRAD MCWALTER, DIRECTOR AND FINANCIAL PLANNER, MCWALTER FINANCIAL & ADVISORY
