Global civil society mobilises around the UN climate summit

There is a global climate summit in New York on 23 September organised by the UN. It's a one-day event at which leaders will hopefully "bring bold announcements and actions ... that will reduce emissions, strengthen climate resilience, and mobilise political will for a meaningful legal agreement in 2015".

A huge People's Climate March is planned in New York to coincide with this summit. Large scale civil disobedience is also planned. Avaaz are collecting signatures for their biggest-ever petition.
