Obama supports fossil fuel divestment

Speaking at length about climate change at a commencement address at the University of California at Irvine, on 14 June, US president Barack Obama made the following remarks:

“You’ve got to push back against the misinformation, and speak out for facts, and organize others around your vision for the future. You need to invest in what helps, and divest from what harms. And you’ve got to remind everyone who represents you, at every level of government, that doing something about climate change is a prerequisite for your vote.”
